Speech On The Value Of Education

Good Morning Respected Principal, Teachers and My Fellow Students!

I, Shashank Sharma, from Class-XII wish to deliver a speech on the Value of Education. You must have got amazed after seeing me on stage. Actually, there is no special, but profound reason behind this speech ceremony.

During summer vacations, I got the wonderful opportunity to associate myself with an NGO that teaches underprivileged children. There I realized how lucky we all are at being blessed with such a life where we get to pursue studies in one of the top schools of Delhi and get all the possible things we desire for. My experience there was quite moving and was greatly touched after seeing the miserable condition of those children. Not all the children as old as a 12-year old student could properly read and write. Unfortunately, they are deprived of quality education because they don’t have enough money to pay for their school fee. We always blame God for something or the other, but rarely do we thank God for giving us such a privileged life.

And, it’s only when the NGO with whom I am associated decided to empower those kids with quality education that they started seeing a positive change in their lives. So here I am in front of all the students to make you realize the value of education. Education is the most empowering tool for the mankind, especially for the deprived section of society who have nothing to fall back upon, but education to gain a prosperous existence. We should value education and study sincerely because it helps mankind grow into a fuller being and achieve prosperity of the nation and world at large. It helps us becoming civilized and differentiating ourselves from the barbaric beings. Education leads us from darkness to light and empowers us with such characteristic traits as rationality, tolerance, the power to pursue, etc.

However, it’s important to gain the right kind of education that benefits us and mankind as a whole and not something which leads society to the ultimate downfall. For instance, we are seeing how every country is trying to make themselves most powerful in the world and gain ascendancy over other nations. Every country wishes to arm itself with the world’s most potent weapons and atomic bombs so that it can subdue or terrorize other nations. So this is not the kind of knowledge that I am here referring to because it is devastating in nature and aims at destruction and war. The knowledge of weapons and atomic bombs is good as long as it is used for defending ourselves, but the moment it is used for unnecessary bloodbath and man slaughter; then the knowledge becomes corrupt.

So it is very important to make a fine distinction between the good knowledge and bad knowledge and make constant efforts to educate ourselves with the right of education so that we can bring people and nations together and uproot such evils as poverty, ignorance, unemployment, crime, etc completely from our society.

I hereby urge each and every student to not only study sincerely, but also give others the gift of knowledge.

सुप्रभात आदरणीय प्रधानाचार्य, शिक्षकों और मेरे साथी छात्रों!

मैं, शशांक शर्मा, कक्षा-बारहवीं से शिक्षा के मूल्य पर भाषण देना चाहता हूं। मुझे स्टेज पर देखकर आप जरूर दंग रह गए होंगे। दरअसल, इस भाषण समारोह के पीछे कोई खास, लेकिन गहरा कारण नहीं है।

गर्मियों की छुट्टियों के दौरान, मुझे खुद को एक एनजीओ से जोड़ने का शानदार अवसर मिला, जो वंचित बच्चों को पढ़ाता है। वहाँ मुझे एहसास हुआ कि हम सभी कितने भाग्यशाली हैं कि हमें ऐसा जीवन मिला है जहाँ हमें दिल्ली के शीर्ष स्कूलों में से एक में पढ़ाई करने का मौका मिलता है और हमें वह सब कुछ मिलता है जिसकी हम इच्छा रखते हैं। वहां का मेरा अनुभव काफी हृदयस्पर्शी था और उन बच्चों की दयनीय स्थिति को देखकर बहुत प्रभावित हुआ। 12 साल के छात्र जितने बड़े सभी बच्चे ठीक से पढ़-लिख नहीं पाते थे। दुर्भाग्य से, वे गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा से वंचित हैं क्योंकि उनके पास अपने स्कूल की फीस का भुगतान करने के लिए पर्याप्त पैसा नहीं है। हम हमेशा किसी न किसी बात के लिए भगवान को दोष देते हैं, लेकिन शायद ही कभी हम भगवान का शुक्रिया अदा करते हैं कि उन्होंने हमें ऐसा विशेषाधिकार प्राप्त जीवन दिया है।

और, जब एनजीओ, जिससे मैं जुड़ा हुआ हूं, ने उन बच्चों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा के साथ सशक्त बनाने का फैसला किया, तभी उन्हें अपने जीवन में एक सकारात्मक बदलाव दिखाई देने लगा। इसलिए मैं यहां सभी छात्रों के सामने आपको शिक्षा के मूल्य का एहसास कराने के लिए हूं। शिक्षा मानव जाति के लिए सबसे सशक्त उपकरण है, विशेष रूप से समाज के वंचित वर्ग के लिए जिनके पास वापस आने के लिए कुछ भी नहीं है, लेकिन एक समृद्ध अस्तित्व हासिल करने के लिए शिक्षा है। हमें शिक्षा को महत्व देना चाहिए और ईमानदारी से अध्ययन करना चाहिए क्योंकि यह मानव जाति को पूर्ण रूप से विकसित होने और देश और दुनिया की समृद्धि प्राप्त करने में मदद करता है। यह हमें सभ्य बनने और बर्बर प्राणियों से खुद को अलग करने में मदद करता है। शिक्षा हमें अंधकार से प्रकाश की ओर ले जाती है और तर्कसंगतता, सहनशीलता, अनुसरण करने की शक्ति आदि जैसे विशिष्ट लक्षणों से हमें सशक्त बनाती है।

हालाँकि, सही प्रकार की शिक्षा प्राप्त करना महत्वपूर्ण है जो हमें और मानव जाति को समग्र रूप से लाभ पहुँचाती है, न कि कुछ ऐसा जो समाज को अंतिम पतन की ओर ले जाए। उदाहरण के लिए, हम देख रहे हैं कि कैसे हर देश अपने आप को दुनिया में सबसे शक्तिशाली बनाने और दूसरे देशों पर प्रभुत्व हासिल करने की कोशिश कर रहा है। हर देश अपने आप को दुनिया के सबसे शक्तिशाली हथियारों और परमाणु बमों से लैस करना चाहता है ताकि वह दूसरे देशों को अपने अधीन कर सके या आतंकित कर सके। तो यह उस तरह का ज्ञान नहीं है जिसका मैं यहां जिक्र कर रहा हूं क्योंकि यह प्रकृति में विनाशकारी है और विनाश और युद्ध का लक्ष्य रखता है। शस्त्रों और परमाणु बमों का ज्ञान तभी तक अच्छा है जब तक इसका उपयोग अपनी रक्षा के लिए किया जाता है, लेकिन जिस क्षण इसका उपयोग अनावश्यक रक्तपात और मानव वध के लिए किया जाता है; तो ज्ञान भ्रष्ट हो जाता है।

इसलिए यह बहुत जरूरी है कि अच्छे ज्ञान और बुरे ज्ञान के बीच सूक्ष्म अंतर किया जाए और शिक्षा के अधिकार के साथ खुद को शिक्षित करने के लिए निरंतर प्रयास किया जाए ताकि हम लोगों और राष्ट्रों को एक साथ ला सकें और गरीबी, अज्ञानता, बेरोजगारी, अपराध जैसी बुराइयों को जड़ से उखाड़ सकें। , आदि पूरी तरह से हमारे समाज से।

मैं इसके द्वारा प्रत्येक छात्र से आग्रह करता हूं कि न केवल ईमानदारी से अध्ययन करें बल्कि दूसरों को ज्ञान का उपहार भी दें।
